Spring? A.V. Walters–
Don’t get me wrong, I love winter. But we’re nearly halfway through April. We’re having a blizzard. There’s no point in posting a picture–it’s all just white. In less than a week, 100 or so trees will arrive for planting. They ship on a schedule rooted in season. Sigh.
I’m ready for sunshine, and the smell of fresh dirt, and bees, and watching the tiny new leaves on the trees.
I’m eternally grateful for a snug new home, and a lovely fire in the wood stove. But Spring! Is it too much to hope for?
Sorry to hear it. I think we’re finally getting spring in NE Ohio, though on Monday it’s apparently supposed to be in the 40s with some early light snow. But we had 75 degrees and sunshine yesterday, so I’m optimistic. Still no blooms though. This winter has seemed extraordinarily long, so I feel your pain.

On that, I agree. I’m glad this one hit us, and not you. I think the Keweenaw deserves a winter break. At least I’m not a cherry farmer.

J and I have lots of bulbs and root plans to get in the ground. Spring in Michigan?

I know, I know. We saw 8 inches in the past 24 hours, and the ice doesn’t start until tomorrow. What winds! It’s our first winter in the new house and, though it feels solid, those north winds do howl.

Spring has arrived here, finally, and things are blooming like crazy, trying to make up for lost time. So sorry about another blizzard, AV. I am reminded of my stint in Alaska and cabin fever! Good luck. –Curt

Hang in there, AV; it MUST be coming soon, right?! We’ve several inches of ice pellets piled up over the past couple of days – thankfully not all freezing rain as initially expected – but *knock wood* we’re not done with it yet… Talking about staying above freezing Monday onward and finally getting into double digit temps (+11°C by Saturday?)
Winter can pack her bags any time now… *sigh*

Pack her bags? I’m ready to throw her stuff out the window and be done with her!
